Good vibes always – no screaming and hollering from the rafters – think of a relaxed day or evening with family and friends .. or solo with a drink of choice, maybe a warm cider fireside..in cashmere soft slippers or your most comfy pj’s.. like a holiday .. in an ambient electronic setting accented with lush strings.
The holidays can be a stressful time with the world so crazy right now. I wanted to write something that gives a feeling of solace and joy with a hint of the innocence missing in life, media and music.

Jody Watley and ‘NIGHTLIFE’ receive further exposure to a younger demographic as the original mix is currently added to the members only program of retailer Abercrombie & Fitch as a download for a limited time via special music license from Avitone, the single has also been added to Mood Media, so you just may just hear “NIGHTLIFE” in-store while out and about shopping or traveling.

Just a look over the names on the Music Week chart and you’ll see a list heavily represented by Hip-Hop and youth. Justin Timberlake, Robin Thicke w Kendrick Lamar, Rihanna, to Drake, Iggy Izalea featuring T.I., to Jason Derulo featuring 2Chainz..Rick Ross.. The fact that I’ve been an artist for decades still contemporary and on this journey holding my own and always it seems against the odds – isn’t lost on me. Add to the mix the fact that “Nightlife” is classic disco with a modern electro twist and nothing like anything in the Top 30. I’m grateful not for the destination but the journey and small miracles each day – including this one! It really is ‘in the music.’

People rush to ask “When is the CD coming out?” It’s like asking for dinner before you’ve even tasted the appetizer for me. What is the rush – especially when so few albums sell anyway. “Paradise” will arrive early 2014. Every song with be choice. I know we live in the digital age, and I enjoy this element, however because of the vastness – it makes even more sense to let things build and unfold. This isn’t teen-age pop culture disposable stuff, grab the headlines and on to the next type of approach whatsoever. Classic.
