Jody Watley in Vivienne Westwood with Orb Rong 1992 American Music Awards

Jody Watley sporting an auburn colored bob hairstyle and Vivienne Westwood complete with oversized orb ring at The American Music Awards 1992. I started wearing her clothes back in 1982 when I was still in Shalamar.

I think I was on a worst dressed list for this red carpet look ..too fashion forward for the times.

Jody Watley - Where Are My Keys - Stay Home

As the days and weeks continue to blur one day into the next, we all deal with this in our own way. All we have is now – it’s where we are. With frustrations rising in some, hopefully irrational behavior won’t take over common sense. Never lose hope even when you feel overwhelmed and helpless – and please don’t get reckless.

Stay home, healthy and safe. Visualize the light at the end of the tunnel – visualize the stars in a dark sky.

Don’t Give Up.

Song of The Day. Jody Watley -Photographs (Eastwest Connection Remix)

This one kicked off my morning cardio — Eastwest Connection Remix from producer Dr. Bob Jones for my song “Photographs” released on the very groovy UK label Chillifunk in 2002 and featured on some soulful dance international compilations.

Wishing everyone a Happy Easter, Resurrection, Passover, Ramadan to those it applies – and just in general the best of another Self-Quarantine #stayhome weekend –  don’t just sit around get some workout in – it’s good for your heart, mind, body, spirit, immune system etc. Sometimes when you have no desire to get up..music will take you all the way up.
Listen to the music –  dance this dance to the rhythm of  life. When you feel helpless and powerless by circumstances that’s all you can do. So let’s dance!

New Jody Watley Art. Self Isolation Challenge.

This art was created by Justin Tedoro and shared on Instagram as a part of a self quarantine isolation challenge by a friend.

The art is inspired by my song and video “Most Of All”

Jody Watley. Winter Nights and Spring.

Jody Watley Winter Nights Cover Art Final

When releasing ‘Winter Nights’ in February my goal was to release a series of seasonal EP’s – with ‘Spring’ on the horizon. Now with the self quarantine my plans will have to adjust to the circumstances of not being able to get into the studio for the full recordings.

“Winter Nights” is as Albumism said “Jody Watley has delivered another dose of sophisticated soul..” is available at all platforms (Apple, iTunes, Amazon, Spotify etc).

The limited edition digi-paks had come in and I was excited to make them available at my concerts in the Jody Watley pop-up tables – that will have to wait. Online is hold hold as well as shipping wouldn’t be an essential outing under this self quarantine for the merchandise team.

JodyWatley-Winter Nights EP

Ironically, I’d just finished a song called ‘The Healing.’  The song is perfect for where we’ve all found ourselves. Contemplating if putting ‘Spring’ on hold would be the way to go, the feeling is that the message is one that some may find inspirational in some way, especially now. With that ‘The Healing’ will precede the EP – it’s timely and necessary with a thumping remix from RedTop. Stay tuned.

In the meantime —
