I love the joy in this photo! There’s nothing more glamourous than a great smile, great clothes are the icing on the cake so to speak. Working the runway to open Kevan Hall’s show was another fabulous and memorable moment for me.

If you’ve ever had people trying to tell you what and how to do something you’re working toward personally or professionally – yet have never achieved anything in your field, relationships, etc. and they seem to feel they have all the answers for your life without your ever asking for advice – this might resonate! I knew someone who knew the secret to winning the lottery, though they’d never even won even a small prize. Walk the path of your own life – ignore the know it all’s, naysayers and crabs in the barrel of life.

I thought of this while watching all of the ladies perform at the Superbowl yesterday. It’s always cool to see anyone achieving and going beyond their dreams; man, woman, girl or boy – young or old.
As an artist however, I felt especially proud, like a big sister, yesterday watching the diversity of each artist on the big stage at the Super Bowl 48. The soulful ‘America The Beautiful’ with Jennifer Hudson (made me teary, singing with the Sandy Hook Children’s Chorus; understanding the connection of the personal tragedies due to senseless gun violence to both), Alicia Keys singing at the piano for ‘The Star Spangled Banner,’ the dynamite entertainment force of Beyonce’s halftime performance; also using the moment to show her sisterhood with Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams reuniting Destiny’s child’s for the occasion.
Each of the artists – kicking ass in their own distinct way. Simply fabulous!
I can relate. Grab the lapels of life and kick ass – yes indeed!
On the eve of my birthday, my friend Christos Garkinos of Decades Inc. and the forthcoming new Bravo TV series “Dukes of Melrose” took me out to dinner to the chic Fig and Olive on Melrose Place. As always, a fun time was had by all!
Every day may not be perfect or meet our expectations. One of my dear friends once said “Every day can’t be lollipops and rainbows”, which is so true. Like you, I’m prone to my moods and challenges even when the sun is shining. We deal with disappointments, frustrations and so forth – but I’m a firm believer in counting blessings not woes. So, “LIVE” “LOVE” and most of all keep your sense of humor and “LAUGH” – it’s always good for the soul!
