Jody Watley ‘RENDERINGS’ The Alex Di Ciò Remixes

Inspired by digital artwork created by Watley fan and graphic designer Shawn West, ‘RENDERINGS’ took shape through remixes by acclaimed Italian DJ/producer Alex Di Ciò, a frequent Watley collaborator whose work has contributed to multiple Top 5 UK Soul Chart releases.

‘Renderings‘ went on to reach #4 on the UK Soul Chart in December of that year, another chart milestone for Watley and her Avitone Recordings imprint.

Featuring reimagined selections from Watley’s The Makeover and Midnight Lounge albums, the EP gives fan favorites and deeper cuts a vibrant new dimension — from “Photographs,” “Love Hangover,” and the empowering “A Beautiful Life” to the thought-provoking “Clouds,” “More,” and uplifting “Whenever.”

Also included is the poignant “Not A Single Day Goes By,” a song of remembrance featuring renowned guitarist Levi Seacer, formerly of Prince’s New Power Generation.

Originally released as a limited-edition CD Digipak featuring an expanded collection of dance mixes, with an abbreviated digital edition, ‘RENDERINGS’ celebrates the timeless possibilities of musical reinvention and Watley’s ongoing commitment to release quality music via her own label Avitone, founded in 1995.

Jody Watley Music History! Celebrating her October 12, 1993 single “Your Love Keeps Working On Me,” a sophisticated R&B and dance groove that reached #2 on Billboard’s Dance Chart and #26 on the Hot R&B Chart! “Your Love Keeps Working On Me” was also featured on the BeBe’s Kids movie soundtrack.

Originally released exclusively in Japan in 1994 through MCA Victor as a companion to her acclaimed Intimacy and Affairs Of The Heart albums, “Remixes Of Love” is a welcome surprise for longtime listeners and collectors — this previously Japan-exclusive release has quietly made its way to worldwide streaming platforms via Universal Music Group (UMG).

The 1994 release is not to be confused with new and current Jody Watley independent releases.

The collection features an eclectic collection of R&B, house, hip-hop, funk, and dance remixes, ‘Remixes Of Love release offers another glimpse into Jody Watley’s genre-blending musical evolution and enduring influence on contemporary dance and R&B music.
