Casamena Laces a New Remix of Jody Watley – Candlelight.

I was quite pleasantly surprised when one of my favorite house remix producers sent me this mix he’d done for my single “Candlelight” from a few years ago. He’s given ‘Candlelight’ an updated tribal house feel. Casamena will be remixing “The Dawn” from PARADISE as well.
I can’t wait to hear what he comes up with.

The remix was premiered on Soulbounce: Here

Soulbounce Revisits Jody Watley’s 1993 Release “Intimacy”

If you slept on the album, it’s a nice one to discover for the first time or revisit or you haven’t played it in a while. I’d already made a decision with my third album to broaden the scope of my artistry and the songs I wrote and recorded – not wanting to be trapped in the pop box and all that that entailed. I’d accomplished what I’d wanted with my first two albums and wanted to move on creatively. This album also went against the grain of Hip Hop and New Jack Swing which was the dominating sound of this era.

“Intimacy” remains a warm and beautiful album written and recorded during the demise of my marriage and a difficult time in my personal life.

Nightlife On Soulbounce. A Classic Soul Treatment.

Soulbounce

There are so many choices with “Nightlife” from the original to remixes by Moto Blanco, Jodie Harsh, Dave Doyle, Soulpersona – all out of the UK, and Luminodisco from Italy.

I kept hearing Phyllis Hyman and the Philly Soul vibe in my head and wanted to hear “Nightlife” mashed up with it. Morgan aka Soulpersona, whose classic disco mix is already getting a lot of love; was down to help turn the vision to reality. The “Phyllis Classic Soul Mix”, no samples used by the way and turns the room changing things up as a duet with Gerald Brown, another Shalamar original and I- see what they have to say on Soulbounce and have a listen to the mix as well: HERE

The word “diva” is being thrown around like confetti these days with few female artists actually living up to the definition. But there are some talents who are living and breathing examples of diva-dom, such as Jody Watley who has paid her dues and earned the title…Read the full post: HERE
