Grammy Winning Music Icon Jody Watley is set to release the jazzy rendition of classic holiday song “Christmas Time Is Here” from her favorite, Vince Guaraldi’s “A Charlie Brown Christmas” on November 17, 2022.
“This is an ambient and chill rendition perfect for warm cocoa, a laid back atmosphere and a fireplace real or virtual” says Watley of the release due on her longtime independent imprint Avitone Recordings. “I originally recorded this for my devoted fans and had it available for a free download for a short while quite sometime ago. “Christmas Time Is Here” is produced by Rodney Lee (Midnight Lounge, The Makeover) and myself. This is the first official release of the newly mixed and remastered single and I’m happy it will now be available on all streaming platforms for holiday seasons to come.”
The everlasting and ever versatile Grammy winning singer, songwriter delivers an impromptu mini medley while at rehearsal back in December 2019. Watley has always said jazz is a favorite genre since she was a little girl with Vince Guaraldi’s “A Charlie Brown Christmas” her all time tops for holiday listening. “For my kids and I, it’s not officially the holiday season or Christmas time until we watch the classic special and play the soundtrack, which stays on repeat.”

Holiday vibes my favorite Christmas song : favorite holiday album “Vince Guaraldi:: A Charlie Brown Christmas” and “Silent Night” reminds me of being a little girl looking at the color wheel. I’m more of a fan of low key holiday songs..instrumentals not much on over-singing..really more of a vibe of chill, fireplace, warm cocoa and like slipping your feet into warm fuzzy slippers.
This was at rehearsal with my fellas including Roland Hamilton on keys 🎹impromptu on break! I asked who knew any Christmas songs as we went to break getting ready for Art Basel in Miami – only Roland said yes and so we did this casually for fun. Sometimes this season can be so hectic and full of frenzy and often sadness for many as well..I hope this brings a minute and a half of joy.
