Jody Watley To Perform At Center In Halsted Human First Gala in Chicago

CHICAGO, IL — Center on Halsted is proud to announce that Grammy-Winning music legend Jody Watley is scheduled to perform live at the Center’s gala on Saturday, April 21, 2018. IT TAKES OUR VILLAGE marks the 11thannual Human First Gala, and symbolizes the Center’s deep commitment to bringing diverse individuals together as we build and empower ‘our village’ recognizing the contributions of individuals, businesses and other organizations to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer community in Chicago.

Human First provides an opportunity to reflect upon and celebrate past accomplishments, while we look forward to the work ahead as we continue to build a world where we are, above all, Human First. In addition to raising vital funds to support Center on Halsted programs and services, the Human First Award will be presented to an outstanding civic leader for their important contributions to the advancement of Chicago’s LGBTQ movement. The 2018 Human First awardees include Dr. Tom Klein & David Gitomer, Marcia Lipetz, and Victoria Raymont. The Community Spirit Award will be presented to the ACLU of Illinois.
