This quote was sent to me by a dear friend to uplift me in this time of grieving the recent passing of my beloved Mom, Miss Rose, Rosebud and my ugly cries (ugly cries water the garden she said)- and then added this poignant and profound piece of inspiration:
“Rose bushes that have been removed from the garden can regrow from the roots left behind.”

As it’s often said, it’s great to give people roses while they are here to appreciate them. I’m so proud of my Mom. She’s been able to overcome so much, including addiction and self destruction along her journey. We endured some really difficult and sad times as a family. These woes never deterred me from living and pursuing my goals and dreams. Children going through this please know that better times can be ahead. Not always – but you’ll never know unless you work hard and try. Each path is different and each destination need not be final in the process of personal growth and knowledge.
Ultimately my Mom became who she was meant to be to my point of view – a beacon of light and inspiration to others including me – as well as my daughter and son.
It’s never too late to turn your life around if you really hang in there. Dig deep and triumph over personal demons and other obstacles though trust me I understand that often this is easier said than done but at least try. Don’t give up.
Here’s to my Mom – the icon Ms. Rose!
