On Saturday, April 13, 2024 WDAS-FM Grammy winning singer/songwriter/producer and style icon Jody Watley will honored at the 8th Annual Women Of Excellence Luncheon with the Legend Award. The luncheon is a celebration of influential women and everyday ‘sheroes’ in the Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware tri-state area. In its first seven years, the daytime event is an unforgettable star-studded and uplifting presentation.

The Women of Excellence Luncheon is a who’s who of music and entertainment royalty with their first 7 honorees. Mary J. Blige was the inaugural, “Trailblazing Woman of Excellence’ award recipient in 2015, followed by the incomparable Patti LaBelle in 2016, Susan L. Taylor, Editor in Chief Emeritus of Essence Magazine was honored in 2017, and the phenomenal Queen Latifah in 2018. Other honorees have included Philadelphia’s own EVE in 2019, Sheryl Lee Ralph and Dr. Ala Stanford. Musical performances have included Grammy Award winning and Grammy Nominated artists such as Lalah Hathaway, Brian McKnight, Johnny, Gill, Will Downing, Pastor Marvin Sapp, Raheem DeVaughn, Vivian Green, Joe, Eric Benet’, After 7, Tamar Braxton and Kenny Lattimore.
