“The Mood” Alex Di Cio Remix became a surprise breakout hit in the United Kingdom, Netherlands and Canada as 2018 kicked off and headed into spring. Here are some of radio highlights and interviews in the journey to the top of the charts.

Grammy Award winning artist Jody Watley and Jody Watley ft SRL member is scheduled to chat with BBC Radio Essex’s John Leech on Sunday February 18, 2018 at 6 PM British Standard Time and on Monday February 20, 2018 at 8:15 PM British Standard Time she will be talking to Gary Spence Solar Radio discussing the new hit single “The Mood” Alex Di Cio Remix featuring SRL.
The British public first came to know Jody as a member of the group Shalamar as it’s original female lead vocalist (1977-1983) with signature hits like “A Night to Remember” “Take That To The Bank” and more and in recent years as a solo artist added to her own solo hit history since her solo debut days with the Number 1 “I Want Your Love” from 2008 and the top 5 Urban Soul hit “Nightlife” in 2013, featuring original male lead Gerald Brown.
No stranger to chart success, Grammy award winning songstress,songwriter, producer and style icon Jody Watley has had hits spanning decades as a solo artist, and before that as the original female lead voice and sound of the group Shalamar. Currently, Watley has now gone into a rare category of a successful artist to create a new group and see it garner it’s own success and identity with her renamed Jody Watley ft. SRL originally formed in 2015.
The beginning of 2018 began with an unexpected surge of support for “The Mood” after a remix from esteemed Italian DJ Remixer Producer Alex Ci Dio. Di Cio played it for New Year’s Eve revelers. The remix turned out to be a real floor filler then catching the ear of British radio personalities. Since that time and with Avitone Recordings bringing in a specialist team to further get the single out.
Released to digital outlets on February 12, 2018 where it also debuted at Number 11 on the Top 20 Mi-Soul Soul Connoissuers Chart, Jody Watley ft. SRL’s “The Mood” has already shot to Number One on Solar Radio and in the tops of numerous playlists with prime play on key stations and building.

The Mood, Alex Di Cio Remix continues to gain ground in the United Kingdom, needles to say this is unexpected and very exciting. We’ve been focused on finishing “Bridges” as a group and of course I always have solo endeavors going, running a business and what not. Thanks really goes to Alex for starting the ball rolling with his spins toward the end of 2017 showing unwavering support of us.
