Check out this awesome video from the massive Let’s Rock London Festival at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Why? You’ll get to see the spirited exchanges and interaction with host Pat Sharp Jody Watley, Nate Allen Smith and Rosero McCoy. Fresh from a triumphant performance in a stellar lineup that included Rick Astley, Banarama and Thompson Twins’ Tom Bailey it’s all laughs and even a brief dance lesson.
Also included are performance highlights that capture some of the love and energy from the day. Filmed June 27, 2015. We rocked London!!
The trip to Sao Paulo was such a blast – the concert, the people, the food – everything but wifi was all good. Thank you to Jason Bralli and Espacos Das Americas, and AudioClub for the experience and opportunity.
A toast to another trip to remember. Rosero McCoy, Jody Watley, Rosero McCoy in Sao Paulo Brazil. 6/132/2015

Each interview is a lesson in business and growth – as well setting a few misperceptions straight. Ultimately this is about today – the now and the newly reloaded SHALAMAR how I arrived .. often things are put in our life’s path for a reason and this is one of those things..
Listen to my conversation with DJ Souly from Sweden: Here
The interview begins with a revelation by the writer, Gerald Radford, which threw me upon reading. His personal bias was something I always suspected with some in the “urban” media which goes back to earlier in my solo career and having mega crossover success – not everyone embraced that. The negative cloud he speaks of is odd because overall I receive so much love in the press and of course from fans in a career spanning decades and with all of the acheivments and benchmarks thus far. A negative cloud hanging over me? I don’t see it. From my point of view only those who resent me for being who I am…and my early solo crossover success, not towing the line, not staying ‘in my place’.. as women as supposed to do in the minds of some is where that exists. I appreciate very much that Gerald remained open and this article was able to be so honest on both of our parts -we had a wonderful conversation. As always, I’m just being myself – living, laughing, loving, learning and hoping it’s contagious to others. There are many things I refrain from saying because I don’t like drama, however sometimes one must let people know what’s really going on.
I consider myself quite blessed to have not only achieved my childhood dreams, but exceeded them. Constantly creating new goals – growing, learning, evolving. Some people don’t like that – the independents, those who don’t fall in line with the status quo..especially women..read the interview: Here

Jody Watley, who recently legally acquired the trademark rights to SHALAMAR has reloaded the group with new young talent in vocalist/dancer/choreographers Rosero McCoy (America’s Best Dance Crew, Disney’s Shake it Up, Usher, Beyonce, Keke Palmer, Toni Braxton) and Ohio native Nate Allen Smith who brings his own sound style and a precision on stage reminiscent of Michael Jackson with the urban sex appeal of early Maxwell. The trio have begun building a fan base playing to packed concert venues in the United States, with scheduled appearances in the UK in the summer festival season. The signature sound is still intact but the presentation is a fresh and color as this new image. More to come.
I had a fantastic time in my delightful conversation with Emmy winner LeGrande Green on his BOLD podcast. LeGrande is a former supervising producer for the OPRAH Winfrey Show. His vision for BOLD is empower others to listen to that inner voice which propels us to be who we are and who we are capable of becoming – without fear. This resonates with so much. We speak about drowning out the inner voice of self-doubt with candor and humor. I hope everyone embraces new platforms and positive voices such as this. There are always new things and pearls of wisdom to pass along and with each interview I try to do that. As always, I’m really excited about the upcoming concerts in Japan at Billboard Live. These concerts will close out an exciting 2014. I hired a new booking agent this year and it’s already paying off. In the past, I chose not to work so much because I was enjoying being a stay at home Mom raising her children though picking and choosing when to travel – a luxury of being a songwriter to so many hit singles. I’ll always be discerning about what and when to take jobs but I do feel a new enthusiasm for this part of the business. With the music of PARADISE, mixed in with a range of curated hits from both catalogs of Jody Watley and the new millennial SHALAMAR ™ adding to the set, it’s even more of a party. Rosero McCoy has done a great job creating new choreography for us. The ladies are enjoying Paul’Michael who brings such a fresh young energy and charm along with his own vocal style. The shows will only get better and we’re having a great time together. The show at Cache Creek Casino and Resort was a sold-out funky party from start to finish. This is a must see concert if you’re in to great music and entertainment. It doesn’t feel like a rote exercise in nostalgia because it’s not – although filled with classics.
The show begins with a rebooted SHALAMAR ™ featuring new young vocalist Paul/Michael Bair and for now renowned choreographer / dancer / vocalist Rosero McCoy. Some people want the thought of a reunion of the classic 3 lineup and of course I understand. The invitation has been extended again from my part – it is on the table whenever the business and creative is sorted, with my former classic 3 members Jeffrey Daniel and Howard Hewett.
This is a different vibe and no one will be disappointed if coming to embrace great entertainment, singing and dancing. At the start, original lead vocalist Gerald Brown “Take That To The Bank” was going to be a part of this new endeavor, however it didn’t work out with him. When that happened, I did reach out to Howard and offer an invitation to join us. He declined and wished me well with it.
This concert begins with SHALAMAR ™ and ends in a funky beat down with some of my signature solo hits and new music from PARADISE including the hit single ‘NIGHTLIFE.’
This is a strong show, not simply because of the hits but because it’s fresh with spot on choreography, chemistry and style. The vocal blend is on point, and Paul’Michael’s tone fits perfectly. The universe always has it’s way.
