Indeed some older fans are losing their minds..I’ve seen comments that me and SRL are a disgrace, sordid..as we proceed forward!
It’s amazing..no one was writing anything or talking about ‘Shalamar’ for decades and now people are up in arms as if this were 1980… people get so upset at the fact others like me are living their lives and making things happen – taking care of business. My group are not Shalamar, the connection is that of course I am an original member of that group (77-83) – though I do own the trademark as of 2014 (Open Letter). Our SRL group has it’s own mark and name and making noise – today not trying to recapture the past or take anyone’s memories away as I’ve stated. Shalamar Reloaded with a focus on new music, videos and dynamic contemporary stage shows. The past will always be there..that’s not what Nate, Rosero and I are doing. I took control of a situation and wise enough to use the leverage that I’ve built with my hit-making solo career to build this new entity and brand. It’s working much to the chagrin of some.
